April 5, 2008:
The Annual Meeting and election of officers was held at the Pruitt Trailhead on April 5, 2008.
In conjunction with our ride we held a club members only poker ride to benefit Stirrups n’ Strides Therapeutic Riding Center. The weather was rainy on the day we held the poker ride for them in January and only a few members participated so this gave us a chance to show our support. After the ride we enjoyed pizza and cake provided by the club. The poker hand winner was determined with the help of John Tyson. There were two members holding the winning hand and each received $45.00. With the addition of a donation, Stirrups n’ Strides will receive $105.00. Thank you to all that participated.
After the trail ride our annual meeting and election of officers was held. Newly elected officers are: Joyce Tyson, President; Mary Ann Lichtenberger, Vice President/Trail Boss; Wendy Griffith, Secretary; Sandy Bernstein, Treasurer; Iris Diaz, Public Relations/Greenways Coordinator.
Sandy Bernstein passed out a year’s end Treasurer’s Report. Mary Jo Stockmaster has agreed to continue T-shirt sales and maintain the inventory.
A special thank you went out to all last year’s Trail Ride Leaders and they received a small gift as a token of our appreciation.
In case you missed the article in the Star Banner, Wayne Vaught was recently honored by Gov. Charlie Crist with the Point of Light Award. The award recognizes those who demonstrate exemplary service to the community.
Annual Dues for 2008-2009 are now due and payable to Sun Country Trail Blazers in order to get your discounts. The Application Form can be downloaded by clicking here. Membership Dues are $25 couple; $15 single. Please send your newly completed Application Form and check to:

We just celebrated 20 years of Sun Country Trail
Blazers!
On November 3rd at Shangri-La we had a trail ride beginning at 9:30 with Kathy
Mattson leading. After the ride, Joyce Tyson, our VP & Trail
Boss, grilled some hot dogs and hamburgers and members brought
covered dishes to share. Long-standing and founding members
