SATURDAY OCTOBER 15, 2011

Ross Prairie clean up on Saturday 10-15-2011. Kate Lenington, Danny Bol, Iris, Diana and Ed, worked on the wagon trail, John Sparks on his horse cleaned up the red trails, Doug and Michelle Shearer and other members from Greenway Equestrians joined in.alongside Bre and Marshall from the Greenway office. These clean ups are usually on the 3rd weekend of the month.

If you can, please help to keep our trails open for the riders, without constant maintenance we wouldn't have these wonderful trails we all enjoy.

Put clippers in your saddle bag and clip as you go along when you can.

POKER RIDE UPDATE

Saturday, August 27 at the Landbridge

The POKER RIDE was a real happening. 34 riders came. As I was saddling Banjo I noticed someone without a horse carrying a huge camera and telephoto lens, a photographer for the Star Banner. He took a number of pictures at the Trailhead and in the woods. Check out the Banner during the week, your picture might be in it.

After the ride everyone crowded around Nancy Alford to see if they had won.  The winners were:
3rd prize- Bill Blomer    $52
2nd prize- Travis Daniels $78
1st prize- Jordan Rogers $130

NANCY ALFORD always does a terrific job, thank you so much, and also a big thanks to everyone who helped her today. Richard Lichtenberger came just to help Nancy add up the points, he has been doing this for years, thank you. Marcia Blomer was not feeling well, but came to help out, thank you Marcia. John Sparks rode with Nancy Friday evening to hang up the bags and picked them up today. Thank you John. Thank you Nancy Maleske for coming with little Daisy volunteering to do whatever was needed.  ALL OF YOU make it possible to have the fun rides we have. THANKS A MILLION.

Sat. June 18, Greenway clean up at the Land bridge.

About 23 people went to the clean up. Volunteers from Greenway Equestrians, Sun Country Trail Blazers and Marion County Horseman's Association braved the heat and showed up to help maintain the trails. I'm sending the pictures to Trail Rider Magazine, they will be writing an article about our Greenway trails.
